Home description
The house is in a quiet location overlooking the river with lovely views from the balcony and terrace. It has been renovated to a good standard and provides all you may need for a self catering holiday. A perfect place to relax and unwind or tour the beautiful countryside.
Coja is a small market town in the foothills of the Serra de Estrela and surrounded by beautiful countryside with winding rivers, lakes, mountains and spectacular scenery.
Coimbra Arganil area
Coja a small ancient market town with a Roman bridge connecting the 2 sides. There is a river beach where it is safe to swim only 200ms from the house and many other beaches to dicscover. The town has excellent restaurants serving traditional Portuguese food, there are also many cafe/bars, bakers for fresh bread, a butchers, chemist, bank and small shops including several small super markets.

Conimbriga is where the best preserved Roman remains are and is approx. 1 hrs drive. The Serra de Estrela provides skiing in the winter and is approx. 1 hrs drive. Golf in Viseu is on a hotel grounds but open to the public. Horse riding can be found in Gois.

Coimbra ia an ancient University City, perhaps the oldest in Europe. It was the capital of Portugal for a short time and is worth a visit to wander the narrow cobbled streets or stroll along the banks of the Rio Mondego.

Cheap flights are available with Ryanair and Easyjet to both Lisbon airport 2 hrs drive and Porto airport 1 hr drive. Car hire is recommended and is available from major car hire firms at the airport. There are good motorways most of the way and A class roads after this.

The lounge has comfortable seating for 6 people, sattelite TV and CD player, there are books and games provided. There is a log burner for the winter months and doors open on to a balcony overlooking the river.
The kitchen is in the old wine cellar where the stone walls have been kept and has a large refectory table and seating for 6 people. Doors open to the outside patio and garden where there is a BBQ.

There is outside dining furniture on the patio and balcony and a charcoal BBQ. Parking for 1 car is to the front of the house off road.

Towels and bed linen are provided but not beach towels, please do not remove them from the house. The house is cleaned once a week with change over usually on a Sturday but this can be altered if the property is available.
Conditions
A deposit of 20% is payable on booking with the remaining balance due 2 weeks before arrival. A cot and a high chair can be available on request.

There are winding rivers where you can fish or swim in the crystal clear waters, lakes for picnicing and swimming and in some places you can hire canoes. The mountains provide a spectacular backdrop to the beautiful views that you find around every corner.
