|Pissouri Pissouri Village area|
|Despite the influx of tourism into Pissouri village, it has managed to do something truly unique in the Mediterranean which is to provide all the facilities a visitor might need, without damaging its character and traditions. Around the traffic free, peaceful village square, there are a range of quaint pavement cafes and restaurants which serve fantastically tasty local dishes and refreshing beer and wines, and many hours can be spent relaxing at a table, watching the world go by. During summer evenings, the square usually erupts into a throng of music and dancing, with locals and visitor mingling happily in the most joyful of atmospheres.
Summer evening music & dance performances in the newly opened open-air amphitheatre are a truly magical way to spend an evening. Graceful dancers entertain the mesmerised crowd, all set to a stunning coastal backdrop, whose colours change as the sun sets behind the hills.
Pissouri Beach is just a short drive from Pissouri Village, and sweeps all the way around the huge bay on which the village is set. The blue flag beach is a combination of sand and shingle, from which a range of water sports are available, including Scuba Diving (diving school in the village); waterskiing, body boarding, windsurfing, sailing and snorkelling. The waters here are clean and safe, meaning that it is ideal for a family or beach holiday in the sun.
